To help students develop a range of skills they need for school and life, Cross Elementary will support the development of empathy, self-control, embracing diversity, integrity and grit across our classrooms, school, and homes. As a school, we will be teaching, practicing, and celebrating these skills that will help your child not only succeed in school, but also as they grow into their future.
They are outlined below:
Empathy- Feeling or understanding what someone else is feeling.
Embracing Diversity- Recognizing, celebrating, and appreciating the differences among us.
Grit- Choosing to accept mistakes and frustrations as a part of learning.
Integrity- Having the courage to be honest and do the right thing, even when nobody is watching.
Self-control- Being in charge of your thoughts, actions, body, and words in order to make wise choices.
